Contemporary Pooja Room Design with Backlit Om Panel Handle Less Cabinets and Hanging Bells

Design Specifications:

Style: Contemporary
Unit Dimension(WxDxH): 54x14x84inches
Colour: Warm White and Brass Gold
Mount Type: Wall Mounted
Storage Features: Central backlit Om panel (2700K LED, dimmable), handle-less push-latch cabinet doors throughout, hanging brass bell provision with concealed mounting rod, floating engineered stone deity shelf, 2 flush-face base drawers, anti-fingerprint white matte laminate

Design Features:

  • Backlit Om panel at the centre of the installation uses a warm 2700K LED array behind a CNC-routed Om form in the white back panel - the Om glows in warm amber within the clean white composition, creating the most direct and universally resonant sacred symbol available in a contemporary Indian pooja installation.
  • Handle-less push-latch mechanism on all cabinet doors and drawers creates a completely hardware-free front elevation - every surface reads as a clean white plane with the backlit Om as the sole visual and sacred focal point. The push-latch mechanism requires a firm press to activate each door.
  • Traditional hanging brass bells mounted on a concealed horizontal rod above the deity shelf introduce the auditory dimension of Indian devotional practice - the bells are rung during aarti and as part of the daily worship invocation ritual, completing the sacred space's sensory register.
  • Concealed mounting rod for the hanging bells is integrated into the installation's upper section during manufacture - the rod is set into the back panel with pre-drilled bell hook positions at 8-inch intervals across the full width, allowing bell arrangements of different sizes to be positioned symmetrically.
  • Floating engineered stone deity shelf at 42 inches in warm ivory or marble-look engineered quartz provides the premium platform for the principal deity arrangement - the stone shelf and the brass bells above it create the material language of a traditional Indian sacred space within the contemporary white composition.

How many hanging bells are included with the installation and what size are they?

Three solid brass bells - one large central bell (3 inches diameter) and two smaller flanking bells (2 inches diameter) - are included as standard. Custom bell arrangements including additional bells or larger ceremonial bells up to 5 inches diameter are available - a customisation option that makes this one of the more sonically considered pooja room designs for households where the auditory quality of the sacred space matters.

Is the push-latch mechanism appropriate for a family with elderly members who may find the press mechanism difficult?

For elderly household members, an optional recessed finger-pull groove cut into the bottom edge of each door is available - it provides a physical grip point for opening without requiring the push-latch spring pressure. This accessibility adaptation reflects the Interior Company's home interior design commitment to designing sacred spaces that work for every member of the Indian household.

Does the backlit Om remain on continuously or can it be turned off when the pooja unit is not in use?

The Om LED runs on a dedicated circuit with its own switch - it can be operated independently of any other room lighting. Many households keep the Om glow on at a low dimmed level (20 to 30%) as a continuous sacred presence and brighten it to full intensity only during active puja sessions.

Can the hanging bells be removed and replaced for different festivals?

Yes - the bells hang from S-hooks on the concealed rod and can be removed and rehung in under 30 seconds without tools. Festival-specific larger ceremonial bells or flower-decorated bell sets can be swapped in for Navratri, Diwali, and other major festivals.

Is this design available with a coloured back panel - blue, gold, or sage green - rather than white?

Yes - the same backlit Om panel and handle-less cabinet design is available in light blue, sage green, champagne gold, and ivory back panel alternatives. The Om backlighting interacts differently with each colour - warmest against ivory and gold, most dramatic against blue or dark sage. This colour flexibility makes this a versatile small mandir design that can be calibrated to the household's existing interior palette.
